Lisa Belk

Lisa Belk holds a Master’s of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. While in Tuscaloosa she studied with Amanda Penick for both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees. While in school, she made numerous appearances on The Pianist at Work, a weekly television program hosted by Mrs. Penick. Lisa has appeared as soloist with the University Symphony as well as the Jackson, Tennessee Symphony. Other notable performances include master classes with Natalie Hinderas, Eastman piano chair Nelita True, and Bach Specialist Rosalyn Tureck.

After finishing her master’s degree, Lisa served as the Director for the UA Preparatory Division of Music for four years before moving to Huntsville in 1988. Since that time she has maintained a large piano studio as well as holding many offices in many local and state music organizations including Huntsville Music Teachers and the Huntsville Music Study Club. She has been a judge for many state wide piano festivals and has served as accompanist for many community and school organizations. She and her family are active in the ministries of First Baptist Church.

Lisa Belk is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) through the Music Teachers National Association. This permanent certification was awarded in 2004 as a culmination of 15 years of certification renewal based on professional enrichment.
